About Anibal
Anibal Olague has over 18 years of experience working in the housing industry. He began his career and public service as Border Field Officer of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs in 1997. During his employment with the state of Texas, Anibal worked closely with local units of government, not-for-profit organizations, and private housing providers to increase the supply of affordable housing in west Texas. In 2004, he became the executive director of the Border Fair Housing and Economic Justice Center Inc., a civil-rights organization dedicated to promoting and enforcing federal fair housing laws along the Southwest Region to ensure equal housing opportunities in under-served communities. In addition, he successfully implemented numerous affordable housing and home-buyer counseling programs, which assisted many first-time home-buyers to achieve the American Dream. In 2008, Anibal founded Border Community Development Consultants Inc., a public administration consulting firms that provides support to local units of government and not-for-profit organizations to secure federal and state funds to implement housing, infrastructure and economic development programs. Anibal is a fair housing trainer certified by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and a licensed Texas real-estate agent.
