Anne Connolly Rief's steadfast commitment to serving her clients and the neighborhoods that makeup Chicago sets her apart in this industry. Chicago is a big city with a small-town feel, and Anne has the pleasure of living and working within this vibrant community, serving the needs of clients throughout the city. This working lifestyle brings her to the market and the market to Anne. As an active broker for over 23 years, and a mother to four school-age children, Anne has an authentic knowledge base about life in the city that she applies to every market value assessment, property valuation, and real estate transaction.
Anne is one of the highest producers in the Midwest region, continually making the top one percent of brokers citywide for the last 18 years. Today, she oversees the Anne Connolly Rief Group, a dedicated team of real estate professionals that assist in all aspects of the real estate transaction. Their goal is to expertly shepherd their clients through often an overwhelming and frustrating home buying and selling process. Anne expertly guides her clients through understanding industry practices, considering and interpreting the most current market statistical data, assessing risk factors, and setting clear and concise plans to achieve the client's primary and secondary goals.
Prior to entering the real estate industry, Anne's initial professional training was with KPMG Peat Marwick as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Banking and Real Estate Division. While at KPMG, she practiced in the area of audit, tax, and mergers and acquisitions. She continued her financial and academic education at DePaul University, working towards her Master's of Taxation with a focus on real estate tax.
Anne leverages her professional and academic background to analyze market values and competently explain their intricacies to her clients. The real estate industry hinges on local markets, especially in Chicago, which comprises diverse neighborhoods throughout the city. Acting as a consultant to every client, Anne understands market conditions and pricing and utilizes her sharp negotiating skills—all of which give her clients the decisive edge. Working with her takes out the "unknown factor" often associated with real estate—as she expertly manages the transaction from beginning to end.
Anne resides in North Center with her husband and four children. She enjoys city life and is always able to provide advice about where to go and what to do in Chicago: everything from the best dining experiences with (and without) your kids to the latest on the music scene. Martyrs, in North Center, Space – in Evanston, Thalia Hall – in Pilsen, and of course, Wrigley Field, are some of her top choices for musical venues!
Anne believes strongly in community involvement. She has served on various fundraising committees and now actively supports Lincoln Park Community Services. LPCS is Lincoln Park's largest privately funded homeless shelter and comprehensive social service agency. She also commits her time and energy to Saint Clement Parish, Saint Clement School, and Saint Ignatius College Prep. She has been an active committee participant - as well as financially sponsoring - large community street festivals such as BenFest and the Irish Christmas Market. She also actively supports Catholic Charities, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Junior League, Gift of Adoption, Girls Supporting Girls, The Chicago chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Dynamic Catholic, and the foundation for the Moira Tobin Wickes Orthotics Department at Children's Memorial Hospital.
Anne's heart belongs to the community where she lives, works, and serves.
