Arthur Paterson, Jr

Art Paterson brings over 35 years of real estate experience to Premier Sotheby's International Realty. Originally from Morristown, New Jersey, he began his career in the town of Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island working as a sales associate and ultimately becoming a broker/partner with a local family-owned realty group selling residential properties on the island. Art was also employed as vice president of a real estate development company that created all the subdivisions and vacant land on the island. He moved to Sarasota in 2002 and was sales manager for Landmark Development Group, a Naples builder. Since 2009 he was a broker/contractor of his own real estate agency, Paterson Properties, and was engaged in residential sales and construction.

Art's mission is to actively participate and provide vital assistance to customers in the process of selling or purchasing real estate, ideally creating lifelong relations with clients that recognize and have appreciated the value of his professional services. Coming from an engineering background and having a state certified contractor's license, he has an enhanced knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations and other issues that relate to properties, their use and potential modification. Furthermore, Art has the capability to evaluate buyer desired modifications and provide assessments of their scope and value. He is a member of the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee.

Outside of real estate, Art enjoys golf, boating and sailing. He has a Florida real estate broker license, a Florida residential contractor's license, a Coast Guard Captain's License and is a notary public. Art attended Georgia Tech and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
