Aurora Peters

Born in Colorado, I explored the glorious peaks and canyons of the southwest long before I could walk, carried along in my parents’ Gerry pack. My family later moved to Washington state where, despite the weather, I was happiest outdoors exploring rainforests and seashore on horseback. As I planned my future I felt compelled to “do what you love” - blaze my own trail, not follow the crowds or punch a time clock.

In 2004, the strong magnetic pull of Colorado drew me back to the mountains, where I’ve happily made Pagosa Springs my destination base camp for exploring the natural world, developing businesses and building community.

“Do what you love” makes sense here where the open horizons don’t crowd your dreams. Here I’ve been able to create my own startups in real estate, automotive services, and, of course, horsemanship, giving me the opportunity to share my love of country living with others.

Equally at ease with a chainsaw clearing fallen trees on backcountry trails, leading a line dance on a Saturday night, or negotiating a win-win business deal - you’ll find me enthusiastically up for the challenge.

I’m now very pleased to join the Sherpa team, as a guide on your own Colorado adventure.
