About Baker
Baker Ellett, founder of Richmond’s Blue Dog Properties, is a Roanoke native, graduate of Ferrum College and longtime resident of Richmond. He built a successful early career in politics and government in Virginia and across the Mid-Atlantic region, and once thought he might start a real estate brokerage in his hometown. He even envisioned spending time driving his pickup truck throughout Southwest Virginia with his blue tick hound in the back, selling farmland and helping people find exactly what they wanted in the hills and valleys of the Commonwealth.
Instead he chose to live and work in Richmond, where he resides in the Museum District and has offices in the Fan District, not far from the Capitol and the Virginia General Assembly where he got his start just out of college. He began working in real estate investment and sales, learning the ins and outs of the real estate business with some of the city’s veteran brokers and agents.
Out of that grew the 2006 launch of Blue Dog Properties – loyal like a hound dog, Baker often says – offering its clients full service in all aspects of the real estate markets in Richmond and other areas of Virginia. His plan was, and is, to serve every need of his clients – commercial, investment, residential and property management.
Blue Dog Properties is built on solid principles of real estate practice. It has grown from a small home office operation with one employee to its new offices the Fan District with an energetic sales staff, large rental management portfolio, and some interesting development and construction projects in the portfolio and in the works.
Clients who have worked with Baker and Blue Dog have found a welcoming, experienced, knowledgeable and thoughtful staff eager to help them in every aspect of real estate. So shoot an e-mail to baker@bluedogrva.com or give Baker, the Blue Dog Violet, and the rest of the Blue Dog Crew a ring at 804-353-1827 – or just drop by the company’s World Headquarters at 2306 W Main Street, Suite B sometime to talk about your needs and find out how Blue Dog Properties can help you fill them.
