About Barrie

A proud San Diego native, Barrie Crake is the backbone and co-founder of Waymaker Realty Advisors. He leads the team in negotiations, strategic planning, and real estate advisory services to clients. The winner of numerous top producer awards, Barrie knows and loves North San Diego County and is known for his personalized service and outstanding results. In 2021, his team closed transactions totaling more than $23 million and served twenty-nine singles, couples, and families. Barrie specializes in helping clients buy and sell distinctive homes, develop land, seek out new investment strategies and 1031 tax-free exchanges, and relocate outside of San Diego. Whether a client is a baby boomer seeking to create generational wealth, an investor, or a first-time homebuyer needing guidance on the local market, Barrie creates a customized plan for everyone.

Barrie earned a bachelor's degree from UCLA and an MBA in finance and real estate from the Graduate School of Management at UC Irvine, where he assisted his mentor, Ray Watson, in creating the first annual Real Estate Symposium and a real estate program, which has become the Center for Real Estate, sponsored by the Graduate School of Management at UC Irvine. He is a licensed broker.

Barrie grew up around real estate — his father was a real estate investor and entrepreneur, and it was a natural step for Barrie to follow him. From building luxury homes in coastal Los Angeles to working with assisted living communities and commercial developers such as The Irvine Company, Barrie has a vast array of real estate experience spanning several decades. He even worked for multiple international real estate companies such as Kajima Development in Los Angeles and AmeriPark Lodges in the western United States, which provided him experience in working with foreign investors. He brings all this experience to every transaction, making him an expert negotiator and strategist.

In addition to focusing on real estate, Barrie spends his time supporting community members in need. He supports many organizations that support first responders, the military, and those suffering from mental health issues. He also assists the local homeless community by organizing regular food and blanket drives, and he is active in his church and youth sports. Barrie enjoys traveling and exploring with his wife, AnneMarie, and has many memorable experiences from his time living in Europe. His pride and joy are his family, and he loves making memories with his grandson, Jack.
