In Atlanta, in 2000, Beverly found her passion moving from retail management to real estate, first representing Wieland Realty in upscale new home communities. In 2004, she made Wilmington her permanent home.
For background, she is a native of West Virginia, descended from a long line of mountaineers. She grew up in Charleston, in the Kanawah River Valley, where she lived over a Kroger store. Her playground (only a block from home) was the lush lawn of the WV capitol and her playhouse the marble rotunda under the gold dome. Her mother worked there, and she wandered the halls and dreamed big. They walked to school and bus service took them anywhere too far to go on foot. She has always felt perfectly prepared to live in New York City.
In her teens, their family relocated to Raleigh, and she began her love affair with eastern NC and the mighty Atlantic Ocean. On a late fall day, she first saw ocean waves crashing on Topsail Island and, today, she lives fifteen minutes from the same sandy spot. Although the mountains are in her heart, she is a flatlander now!
Her husband, John, is from Morehead City, NC (also on the coast) but they met in Raleigh. To get here, they lived in Rochester, New York for eleven years - long enough in "the other NY" to consider it home too. They loved everything but the gray days of a "lake effect" climate and a 100 plus inches of annual snow. They also loved living on the Jersey shore and in Atlanta before finding their way back to the NC shore.
For fun, she loves gardening! If she does her part, nature will do the rest!!
