William was born in Philadelphia and lived in South Philadelphia until he was seven years old. He was hit by a trolley car and his mother decided she was moving their family to the country. They landed in Westville Grove (Deptford Township NJ) where he attended St. Anne’s School in Westville and Graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School.
William’s first job during high school was as a clerk at the Lit Brothers Department Store in Camden NJ. Upon graduation from High School, he obtained employment at the Philadelphia Navy Yard as an apprentice Marine Machinist in the Ordinance Department. He worked on Gun Mounts, Torpedo Tubes and Missile Systems. He worked on Submarines, Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, and the Battleship New Jersey.
All the while he was attending Drexel and Rutgers University at night with a major in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Political Science. An opportunity presented itself and William applied for and obtained a position as a police officer in Westville. He remained a Police Officer in Westville for 26 years rising through the ranks to the position of Chief of Police which he held for 18 years. While a police officer he obtained an associate degree in criminal justice. Upon retirement from the police department, the town of Westville asked him to stay employed as their Business Administrator and he was employed in that position for twenty years. He has held many positions and responsibilities during his public government career including Certified Public Manager, Certified Tax Collector, Emergency Management Coordinator, and Insurance Fund Commissioner in addition to preparing million-dollar budgets and the day-to-day operation of a Municipality.
Wiliam have also enjoyed coaching youth Baseball, Softball and Basketball and was a semi-professional baseball umpire with the Independent Umpires Association. He is a member of the Westville Lions Club and enjoys participating in many charitable activities and organizations.
He attended the Don Haven Real Estate School and graduated and obtained his New Jersey Real Estate License. William is proud to now be associated full time with Coldwell Banker Preferred in the Haddonfield Office. He has attained the designation of Senior Real Estate Specialist from the National Association of Realtors and have been awarded the NJ Realtors 2017 and 2018 Bronze Circle of Excellence Award, as well as several internal Coldwell Banker recognitions, including The International Sterling Society Award.
