3rd generation Watkinsville/Oconee County, Georgia native; worked in family peach business as a youth; active 4-H member (elementary and high school)/ elected District 4-H officer; active high school Hi-Y member/elected State Youth Assembly Attorney General; 3 letterman athlete in high school; graduated from University of Georgia with BBA Real Estate; Elected to Georgia General Assembly - State Representative (1999-2011); Originally licensed as real estate broker in 1978; Certified General Appraiser for 25 years/ fee appraiser/condemnation appraiser/expert witness; 3rd generation member/Board member/officer of Ashford Memorial Methodist Church; Married Laura Butler Shearron in 1979; Three children - Robert, Matthew and Shearron! So far...2 grandchildren, a girl and a boy! Big family and growing!
