About Brenda
Tampa Bay Real Estate, Built on Experience.
My path to becoming your Realtor® didn't follow a straight line, and I think that's exactly why I'm good at this job. I started in real estate in the mid-1990s, selling new construction homes for a home builder in Illinois, which meant learning to sell a house before it existed, walking buyers through floor plans, lot premiums, and build timelines instead of a finished product they could tour. In 2000, when my second child was born, I stepped away from my career entirely to raise my three children. Family came first, and I don't regret a day of it.
After the 2008 housing crash, I understand market downturns firsthand. In 2012, I moved to Florida to start over, and in 2013, I went to work in the pest control industry, where I spent five and a half years in the field doing wood-destroying organism inspections, critter control, and irrigation work. I no longer hold a license in that industry and don't perform that work today, but the experience shaped how I read a property. When a WDO report or a home inspection comes back with findings, I understand the terminology and the underlying issues well enough to have a genuinely informed conversation with my clients about what a finding means, questions worth asking their inspector, and how to think about it in the context of their offer. I still rely on licensed, active inspectors and pest control professionals for every transaction, the same as any agent should, but I bring a level of familiarity with that side of a property that most Realtors don't have.
In 2018, I earned my real estate license here in Florida, and I've spent the years since building a career as a Realtor® with The Elite Experience Realty (license BK341167), specializing in single-family homes across Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, and Sun City Center, with regular work extending into Wesley Chapel, Lithia, Land O' Lakes, Westchase, New Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater. Across my new construction years in Illinois and my resale career here in Florida, I've been part of over 200 real estate transactions, working with first-time buyers, move-up families, investors, and everyone in between.
Two areas I've specifically trained and certified in reflect the clients I most enjoy working with. My MRP, Military Relocation Professional, certification means I understand PCS timelines, VA loan eligibility, and the specific pressures active duty families and veterans face when they're relocating on a deadline they didn't choose. My SFR, Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource, certification means that when a client is facing a short sale or a foreclosure alternative, I'm not learning the process alongside them. Having been through a market downturn myself, I understand both the financial mechanics of those situations and what they actually feel like from the inside.
On any transaction, my approach stays the same regardless of which client I'm sitting across from. I want to understand what you actually need before I start showing you houses or writing a contract. I price and position listings using real comparable data for your specific neighborhood, not a countywide average that tells you nothing about your street. And I negotiate hard on your behalf, because that's where an agent either earns their fee or doesn't.
