Brett Kennedy specializes in real estate restructuring, including dispositions, lease rejections, buyouts and renegotiations, as well as strategic planning, portfolio strategy and analysis, corporate real estate advisory, acquisition and disposition due diligence, and owner advisory services.
With more than 15 years of experience in the real estate industry, Brett has provided advisory services and interim management to major corporations, institutions, developers, pension funds, REITs, banks and private owners across the healthcare, construction, hospitality, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and energy industries.
Prior to founding FourOaks Real Estate Advisors, Brett was a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), where he was a founding member in establishing the national Real Estate Advisory Services practice. While at A&M, Brett worked closely with his restructuring colleagues to provide expert real estate advice to clients experiencing corporate crisis or restructuring, including Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
From 1997 to 2003, Brett was a Senior Associate in the Financial Advisory Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he managed acquisition projects in excess of $2 billion and performed financial due diligence related to the disposition of a $10 billion loan portfolio.
Brett began his career with Weston Companies in Memphis, Tennessee, where he developed, designed and implemented marketing efforts for retail, industrial and office projects throughout the Mid-South.
Brett holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentrations in management and real estate from Baylor University. He is a licensed Real Estate Salesman in the State of Texas and a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).
