Brett Slattery

He is a long-term resident of Rotonda West/Cape Haze where he lives with his wife, Deb. They have 2 grown sons and 2 grandkids. Deb and he operate their own brokerage and work as a team.

He began his real estate career in 1977 selling commercial real estate in California. When legislation brought the market to a crawl, he worked for Pacific Bell as a technician, analyst, and engineer. In 1986 he founded a software development company which he later sold so he could return to selling real estate full time.

He is very excited and enthusiastic about their area. He moved there in 1994 so that his family and him could enjoy a much higher quality of life.

To maintain their quality of life, and to gain as much real estate knowledge as possible, he stays very active in their community. He was elected to the Rotonda West board of directors where he served as the association's director, secretary, community relations chair, and vice-president.

He has developed a reputation as an authority on real estate, and write business and real estate columns that appear regularly in 4 newspapers throughout the region. He is frequently quoted by the media and has made many appearances on local radio shows where he offers his insights into their real estate markets.

He has also been very active in lobbying for property tax reform and have appeared on the air with lawmakers such as House Speaker Marco Rubio and Representative Paige Kreegel to affect the successful passage of Amendment One for property tax reform.

He uses his passion for wildlife and outdoor photography to promote real estate in Rotonda West, Windward, and Cape Haze. His photos depicting the beauty and wildlife of their area are printed routinely on the front page of area newspapers and magazine inserts.

He also combines his photography, software, and web design skills to create unique, high-impact virtual tours to market properties on the web.
