What can I say about the Jacobs Group? They are amazing!
Jamie Riley showed me upwards of 65 houses probably more over the course of a year (Crazy Market), pointed out things in the houses of concern and things of value. She was always on my side, even drove me to houses when my car was not working. She gave me realistic expectations when it came to home buying and putting down offers, she was super knowledgeable of every community and always came prepared with documents, comps, and what not. After getting to know what I liked and disliked she would even send me suggestions on houses she thought were good deals and fit what I was looking for. She truly cares for people and is not out to “make that commission”. She worked within my budget and would try to save me money where it could be saved. She is creative and genuine in all she does.
Shannon Murphy is upfront, honest, caring, and brave (no fear of spiders or dark places lol), she showed me some houses when Jamie was unable due to a family thing and was extremely thorough. She sat with me during a home inspection and asked the inspector pointed questions I would never have thought to ask but was grateful for the information. After an offer was placed Shannon would handle all the nitty gritty paperwork and explain anything I was confused on. When VA appraisals came in super low two times she went to bat with the VA over it. This is something when I tell my friends about they are all shocked a team goes this far for a client. Shannon even went to bat about some fees and got them removed or reduced for me with external companies for inspections and the like.
If you’re looking for a team that genuinely cares about you getting the right house, the home you deserve, the home you desire…this is the team to use. I will forever be grateful to them. They are ones I now call friends, have shown them what I was doing with the house I ended up getting, and have had great life conversations. They even sent me a card to remind me winter was coming and that they were thinking about me. Seriously, use them, they are the best and will make your experience buying a home a delight.

I've lived in a few places through my life, but this house was going to be the first house I'd ever purchased for myself. My wife and I were eager to find a home where we could settle with our children and call our own, but we were pretty nervous about all the potential pitfalls and complications that the process entails. I'd heard horror stories from friends, family, and co-workers about money pits, dishonest or incompetent realtors, mounds of horribly confusing paperwork, and so on and I was somewhat worried that I might make a misstep and choose something that would have lasting and major repercussions on my family's well being.

Not knowing how to choose a realtor I decided to just fill out something on redfin when we found a house we were interested in and I was inundated with texts, calls, and emails, but Jamie Riley of the Jacobs Group was the only one who wasn't pushy, followed up when she said she would, worked quickly, and made herself readily available immediately. Before I settled on Jamie and the Jacobs Group, I cultivated a couple of other realtors (being up front about that fact) and of those, only one other kept up with me and in the time it took her to set an appointment to see the house we were interested in, Jamie had sent over a packet of information on it, had several phone calls with me about the process, and had already taken us to the house and introduced us to a partner lender to begin the process of making an offer since the house was very desirable.

We didn't end up getting the house unfortunately, but Jamie was right there with us and was eager to find us another home that would be a good fit, but also exceedingly patient while we figured out exactly what that was. She never once was unprofessional and was always available by text, phone, and email if we should need her; I was actually a little sad when we moved onto making the offer and closing when I found out she'd be taking a step back. I needn't have worried though as Bridgette, Shannon, and their team were just as motivated, professional, responsive, and expedient. If anything, the main slow down in the process on our end was us taking more time than needed to fill something out or send a document.

During the closing process (and in the middle of Covid19, with all its complications no less), the Jacobs Group put us in touch with first class lenders, inspectors, and any other professional we might need. Bridgette and her crew have clearly spent a long time cultivating relationships with partners who share their values and work ethic because I had zero complaints. In fact, they all responded with the same level of expediency as the Jacobs Group and made the process painless and smooth.

Once we went for signing at the title company, the professionalism stayed the same and they were there with us the whole way, answering any silly questions we might have, dealing with our nerves, and looking out for our best interests. To cap it all off, they even gave us a nice personalized gift that we will treasure for years I'm sure. After closing and after they made their money, they have continued to be just as professional, responsive, helpful, and timely as we sorted out a few unforeseeable issues that popped up within the first weeks of living in our new home.

Not only would I not hesitate in recommending The Jacobs Group to anyone looking to buy a house, but I would say to just stop looking altogether and settle on them immediately. I used to be a little ashamed that I couldn't relate to all of my peers' tales of woe in buying a house, but now that I've joined them as homeowners, I still cannot relate to the horror stories and I couldn't be more happy about it.

Joan helped me find the perfect condo in a low inventory market, saturated with well positioned buyers at the start of a pandemic. She was relentless and versatile and went anywhere I wanted to go while still keeping my priorities in mind. It was a test of wills but after 5 or so offers, I got “the one”.

And it didn’t stop there- the whole team became a part of the process and I got the help of Brigette and Shannon, who are just as amazing as Joan. Shannon walked me through parts of the process that were unprecedented and also served as my rant partner when things with my lender didn’t go according to plan. Her persistence and expertise came in handy to help hold everyone accountable during what’s already a stress process exasperated by a pandemic.

Months after closing, she also answered my cries for help when there was a mix up with my home warranty. They never stop treating you like a client.

I can’t say enough great things.

Joan and Shannon were incredible to work with. I was a first time home buyer and they helped me every step of the way. If I didn’t know what something was or anything overwhelmed me they were there for me. I will never forget Joan telling my Mom that she was one of my Moms during this process too. Shannon cried with me when I had my inspection done when I just needed to let all the emotions out! I actually stumbled upon this group because of Zillow and I’m glad I did. Without the Jacobs Group I honestly don’t think my husband and I would be homeowners now. Joan was our realtor and then Bridgette and Shannon helped us through the entire closing process because I had no idea what I was doing. Joan is very hardworking and honest. Anytime I texted or called her she’d answer, and she kept up with our MLS portal to see what homes we were interested in so she could set up showings. No matter what time or day I could call to get ahold of them with any questions I needed answered. I really recommend using The Jacobs Group if you’re looking into buying a home.
I just wouldn’t use the lender they suggest, Bryan from Prosperity Home Mortgage. I made a last minute decision to go with another lender and he called me up to tell me I was “rude” and then hung up on me 😀

01/23/2014 - xtremekia1 Sold a Multi Family home in 2010 for approximately $250K in Glen Burnie, MD. When my husband past away Bridgette took the time to tell me how to prepare my house for sale and told me how to list it for a quick sale in a tough market. I sold my house within 6 months with her expertise. Once that sale was complete, she knew I would be in the market for a new home. Bridgette and I looked for and found that oh so special home I was looking for. The house had only been on the market two days and already had 2 contracts on it making mine the third. Mine being the only one who could settle in 3 weeks since all my paperwork had already been done. That was the game clincher. Bridgette knew what she was talking about and that home became mine. She took everything in consideration and stuck with us to the bitter end. I think the wife and I accomplished some type of record for viewing the most amount of houses in a single day and another one for the 3 months of searching.
