Don Cooley and Bubba McCants are founders of the real estate team Donandbubba.com. Formed in 2003, when real estate teams were rare, Don and Bubba knew that if they combined their skill sets, they could serve buyers and sellers better together. They agreed to split the workload 50/50 based on a handshake and the mindset that two are better than one.
Since then, Don and Bubba have specialized in the residential markets of Bay, South Walton and Washington counties with more than 100 closed transactions per year. Over the years of economic ups and downs, Don and Bubba attribute their success to keeping customer service a priority.
Being a successful real estate team takes hard work, strategic marketing, organization and people skills. All things that Don and Bubba developed in their careers prior to real estate. Don is a commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves and a former juvenile probation officer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and worked in that field for five years when a friend asked him to invest in building a spec home. Don earned his real estate license and began building and selling new homes. Seeing the potential for professional growth was in real estate, Don switched his full-time career.
Bubba earned a bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise science. He enjoyed a career that involved listening to a client’s needs, preparing a plan and assisting in meeting set goals. In real estate, Bubba is able to use these same skills to help clients achieve their goals when buying and selling property.
Donandbubba.com also includes a homebuilding division. The owners listen, understand their clients’ goals, and work hard to reach them. Most recently, Don and Bubba became partners in Counts Real Estate Group. They look forward to going to work for you!
In addition, Don and Bubba are invested in their community and serve as good stewards to many organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girls Inc., Bay District Schools, Stuff the Bus, Rotary Club, Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, and the Military Welcome Center. Northstar Church is home to Don, his wife, Kim, and their sons Logan and Preston, and Emerald Coast Fellowship is home to Bubba, his wife, Mary, and their kids, Norah, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Jayce, Ruby and Christian.
