Burk Herrin

Burk was raised in nearby Summerville and attended local schools. He graduated from The Citadel in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration. He worked with the Charleston County Assessor’s Office from 1973 to 1975 and the Maritime shipping business in Charleston from 1976 to 1983. He has been a real estate appraiser since 1984 and obtained the SRA designation in 1987. He and Herb started Sass, Herrin & Associates in 1992. He served as president of the Charleston, South Carolina, Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers (1989-1990). He also holds the CRP, Certified Relocation Professional designation of the Employee Relocation Council.
