We were introduced to Burt through our friends who had recently purchased their first home in Burlingame. They worked with Burt over a period of 4 years (!!) before they found the house that was right for them and what impressed us is that our friends never felt pressured by Burt to hurry their process.

We worked with Burt for about 4 months before we found our home. We are first time home buyers and he was incredibly friendly, supportive, reliable, efficient, and professional.

Burt is super self-aware and in his own introduction to us listed out his style/philosophy. At the core, he is excellent at spotting VALUE and tends to focus on things like resale value/upside and how much money a property may require to update/upgrade. He leaves the figuring out if you like the style/layout/feel/neighborhood (the things that are highly subjective and personal) up to you. He knows a lot about the different neighborhoods and highlighted for us the ones that young families tend to love. Importantly, he was very good about showing us only properties that fit our parameters. He never showed us things that were out of budget or too small. As we saw more properties and refined our criteria, the properties he found for us also evolved to fit our needs. He showed us properties in woodside, menlo park, redwood city, san mateo, san carlos and foster city.

We settled into a pattern where we would see a bunch of listings with Burt and any house we really liked, we would arrange a second look with Burt and our parents. He was very good about navigating our family dynamic to make sure both we and our parents felt totally comfortable.

We also felt he came through for us a couple of times that were really critical. One example, is we were given a 7 day contingency period and we wanted to find structural engineers to comment on the risk of landslide/ land shifting. He has so many local contacts that he was able to arrange this evaluation for us and a home inspection with Radon testing (which takes a full 48 hours) all within that short timeline.

Perhaps most important, Burt made us feel safe. No question was too silly or small and no question was too big either! We will recommend Burt to any and all of our friends who are buying property in the area as a realtor who is kind, knowledgable, practical, efficient, down to earth and one who holds himself to the highest ethical standards.

Burt is a phenomenal agent. I cannot say enough good things about Burt based on our experience working with him to purchase our first house! He is extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and thorough. He was a true partner in finding the right home for us and supported us through the entire process (which, in our case, lasted years through the pandemic).

We reached out to Burt after reading all the positive reviews and knew right away after our first meeting that we wanted to work with him. He is not only very experienced and knowledgeable, but also very approachable and easy to talk to. As first-time home buyers and recent transplants to the Bay Area, we had a lot of questions about everything from neighborhoods to construction materials to the closing process/terminology. Burt was patient, responsive, and happy to share his expertise and candid opinions. Despite managing multiple clients, we always felt like a priority for Burt and never felt rushed into decisions. We looked forward to hearing Burt's analysis of the properties we viewed or considered, which helped us to better define what we thought we wanted or needed in a home. And during the loan application and closing, he checked in regularly to make sure we were hitting the necessary milestones, and reached out to various parties on our behalf to help facilitate and expedite the process.

Burt consistently went above-and-beyond, and we are so grateful to have worked with him on purchasing our home!

Burt was so great to work with! From the initial phone inquiry to closing, Burt was always very cordial, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. Very easy to work with. He was referred to us from another realtor from San Francisco who we value and respect a lot, so we are not shocked at how good Burt is. He helped us through a divorce sale which was tough to navigate. One party remained in the house making it difficult to show properly. It was one obstacle after another. I'm sure a lot of agents would have walked away from the deal, but Burt remained even keeled and communicated everything to both parties all the way through to the sale where everyone was happy. I would recommend Burt to anyone looking to list or buy a property in San Mateo County.

We are so lucky to have found Burt to help us sell our condo in San Mateo! He gave us a few selling options and the one he helped us decide on happened exactly as he predicted. We are confident we maximized our returns because of his expertise.

Not only did he go above and beyond to take care of everything (I was very pregnant when I started working with him and he helped me close a few days after I delivered my baby, all I needed to do was e-sign some documents), the entire process took less than two months. I have worked with a few agents and no one came close to Burt.

Burt helped us purchase our first house in San Mateo. We first met him when we visited an open house where Burt was working as a sell-side agent in the early phase of our house search. We ended up not submitting an offer, but we really liked his clear, logical and persuasive explanation so we asked him if he would be our buy-side agent.

It took us about 20 months to find our ideal house because our house search was suspended due to the pandemic in 2020. During that time, Burt has always been kind, patient and professional. He always gave us advice from multiple angles such as safety, resale value, resident's point of view, financer's point of view and market perspectives. We learned so much about what to look out for, and we deepened our understanding of what we really wanted which was critical to make a fully informed decision.

I understand that Burt takes a limited number of buy-side agent assignments, but if he is able to work with you, you are lucky. We highly recommend him and we will definitely seek his support when we sell our house and/or buy one next time.

Burt is amazing! We were very picky on the houses and Bay Area market is very tough. Burt has been always patient, responsive and he gave us lots of great advices on all the houses. We worked with Burt to purchase a home in San Bruno. Our search encompassed San Mateo up to SSF. Burt was very knowledge about the Peninsula market and help us craft our offers in a very thoughtful way. He has excellent insight into the local market. He was not "salesy" and we never felt pushed into something that was not right for us. That was a very important characteristic for us in determining the the realtor we wanted to partner with. He was also very helpful in helping us think about what repairs would be needed as we looked at homes and ballpark the cost. Once we got under contract, he helped us get quotes from vendors right away and even took the time to meet with them himself as he knew my wife and I had difficulty getting out of the office. Overall, I would highly recommend.

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Burt! He sold our first home in San Mateo for us in September, and we had an extremely positive experience with Burt from start to finish. Burt is not only very knowledgeable about the local market but also very professional and easy to work with. We relocated to Southern California last year and had been renting out our home. Being remote during the process, we were anticipating needing to make some trips up to the Bay Area to ensure it went smoothly. But, this was never needed. Burt was very organized, timely and communicative throughout the process. Based on our budget and the current market, he gave great advice on necessary house repairs and updates, organized all vendors and adhered to the timeline he initially set. Burt went up and beyond to make sure the house was in excellent condition, and he always made sure that we felt comfortable with every decision made. Burt made the process very seamless for us, and we couldn't have asked for more in a realtor. We highly recommend Burt if you are looking to buy or sell a home!

As first time homebuyers, my fiancée and I had no idea what we were looking for in a good agent. Starting out with a different agent (who was, in short, quite underwhelming) really showed us what made Burt great at his craft. He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, personable, and thoughtful. Perhaps most importantly, we trust his judgment. We also don't want to undersell just how relatable Burt is; after just a couple weekends spent touring open houses together, we felt like Burt understood what it was like to be in our shoes.

We particularly appreciate Burt's patience with us - not only in his willingness to answer all of our newby and silly questions, but also in his genuine desire for us to find and focus on the best opportunities for us. He never once pressured us into pursuing any homes we might later regret and in fact gave us the advice we needed to realize why we should pass on some opportunities that initially looked enticing.

Based on our overall experience with Burt, we would highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a house in San Mateo County. We felt much more confident with him in our corner during our 3-month (ultimately successful) search (in a still-competitive seller's market) and relied on his guidance throughout the escrow process.
