About Butch

Real estate veteran Alan 'Butch' Strawderman, was involved in the sale and marketing of vacation properties for over 24 years. He also co-owned Chad Marketing with his brother for 16 years, until the firm was sold in 2003. A lifelong resident of Rockingham County, Butch graduated from Broadway High School, then attended Massanutten Military Academy Prep School and East Carolina University. While at ECU, Butch lettered for three years in football and was named All-Southern Conference and honorable mention 3rd Team Associated Press All-American. He went on to tryouts with the now-defunct World Football League and the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. Butch has two daughters, Alexa and Brianna; attends the Harrisonburg Church of the Nazarene; and enjoys many outdoor activities. He served on the local Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank in Harrisonburg for three years and currently is on the Harrisonburg – Rockingham County SPCA Board.
