About Byron

Byron Thompson recently joined Metcalf Land Company after a long and rewarding career in Federal Law Enforcement. Byron’s specialty was complex financial investigations and his efforts helped protect the public from fraud and dishonest business practices. We first met Byron while he was representing a client buying one of our recreational properties. The sale turned out to be a very complicated transaction involving multiple parcels and his passion for bringing it all to a successful conclusion was most impressive, even by our standards.
Byron and his wife Jayne, have been married for more than 30 years. They have two children and three grandchildren. Byron gained his passion for land as an avid outdoorsman fishing, hiking, backpacking and hunting all over the U.S. He and Jayne live in northern Greenville County and thoroughly enjoy all that South Carolina’s Upstate and the Western North Carolina mountains have to offer.
Byron is an active member of First Baptist Church Gowensville and enjoys leading small group Bible Studies and teaching. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at North Greenville University.
We are extremely pleased that Byron has joined our growing team of land specialists. Please consider speaking with Byron when you need assistance with buying or selling land. We are proud to back him up with 47 years of experience in Upstate SC land sales
