Carla grew up in Muskegon Michigan and started selling a small newspaper called “The Grit” at 8 years of age at a local department store. She continued rising and built a successful career in sales. In 1982, Carla moved to Sarasota Florida, and was delighted to be part of a new business start-up, a healthcare staffing company, that was named one of the fastest-growing small businesses in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Hot 500 List.
