She also ran the phenomenally successful senior luncheon program held monthly at the community center, managing all the logistics to create a warm and welcoming environment and meal for those in her community. In addition, she served her numerous fundraising committee‘s including Ridgefield response, providing relief for Superstorm Sandy victims in Rockaway Beach, New York, and after witnessing a fire in the home of an elderly neighbor, Carol and her husband founded “The Smoke Detector Program” for seniors in Ridgefield, which continues to offer smoke detectors to senior citizens free of charge through the Ridgefield Fire Department.
