About Catherine
I do what I do best and that is working with people and helping them reach the quality of life they are desiring and living it, now, not in the future.
My name is Catherine Fleishman. I am an Associate Broker for eXp Realty LLC, a publicly traded company on the Nasdaq Code EXPI. I have been selling and listing homes since 2002 doing business in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. I am a product of the rise and fall of the real estate industry for the last 13 years. I have flourished and prospered and I too felt the angst of our most recent economic downturn. I volunteered to help over 100 families to mitigate the foreclosure process for 2010 and they were able to stay in their home longer allowing them to recover from their troubles, whether sickness in the family, divorce, loss of job or just plain discouraged, unable to go forward in life. I am still here and I will continue to strive to do my very best to find your ideal home, and the next one and the one after that. I also believe that knowledge and its application to help others go hand in hand. To acquire knowledge is important and what you do with that knowledge has even a greater importance and impact to me, to my clients and customers, the community I serve and to the real estate industry. We are all contributing to our economy, we are all in this together to create for ourselves a quality of life we are desiring. And what is economy anyway? I believe economy is us. We are the economy. I remember coming to America during my late teens. My father emigrated here. I was the favorite child, so I was told, and I was to be the first one in the family to enter into a foreign soil. I remember I was picked up early from college because my aunts are making clothes for me to try them on because we are soon to travel. I lived in Manila and I was enjoying my new found life of college years with a bit more freedom. So my time in country was cut short so I could travel in America. I got my first job at a bank in DC. Then, I worked for a company that handled mortgage payments, they are called “servicers”. I learned much about the back end of a loan. I remembered telling to myself that to get a better position is to learn as much as I can about my job, then write a manual, so I can teach the next person to take over my position then I am free for the next position. And I did, I wrote a manual about every job that I learned. I kept this habit for the rest of my career in office work, then onto the corporate world, and then to a professional career in real estate. Today, I love writing continuing education courses for agents and brokers. I continue to train agents, motivate, and inspire them to be the best they can be. With knowledge and its application, personal income will grow, and helping others change their lifestyle for the better is very rewarding.
The last time I worked with a couple, a first time homebuyer, they taught me an important lesson. They believe that they can have the home they found for their first home and although what was on paper, did not look hopeful for them to qualify for a home, they were so sure and so full of vigor and belief that this is their home. And so I went with the flow and aligned with their belief. Who am I to question their confidence and their faith on their burning desire to have what they want. I just followed their lead, and we had closed the transaction. I believe in people and without people, houses are just empty structures.
