Cathy Spires had a fulfilling life in Winnsboro, South Carolina, where she owned her own successful real estate firm for many years. As broker in charge, Cathy became an expert in historical and unique properties such as horse farms and century-old homes. In addition to the real estate company, she and her husband Joe owned a small “mom and pop” convenience store – the same store that Joe worked in during high school. Yet Cathy and Joe felt compelled to leave their hometown and move to the coast of South Carolina.
In 2002, the urge and desire to move to the South Strand of Garden City was fulfilled. Following a meeting with her colleague, Gary Nichols, Broker in Charge of Dunes Realty, Cathy was so inspired by the character and integrity of the company that she knew this is where she belonged. Twelve years later, Cathy has found that her decision was the right one for her, both personally and professionally.
Professionally she has earned the title of top sales agent four years in a row and is one of the leading agents in the area. Personally, Cathy enjoys living on the inlet, the “sweet spot” of Garden City, and deeply appreciates how life became even better than she could have ever imagined. Cathy's daughter, Ashlee, moved to the area within a year of Cathy’s move and now resides in Murrells Inlet with her husband Jeff. Cathy’s son, Chris, became the Lead Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Murrells Inlet and currently resides in Murrells Inlet with his wife, Hannah, and their three sons, Henning, Whitman and McTeer and daughter, Sarah Jane.
Cathy knows she has been blessed far beyond any expectations she may have had. She loves where she lives, works, worships and plays.
