About Cathy

Cathy Conley Swofford first came to Austin as a journalist reporting on issues impacting our economy, education, and environment at Austin City Hall, the Travis County Courthouse, and the Texas Capitol.

Today, she is a licensed real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realty in Austin, a city she has called home for 40 years. Cathy’s husband, David, owns a public relations firm in Austin. They are the parents of two sons. Will, a forensic accountant, is an executive with a global consulting firm. Wade works in commercial real estate finance in New York City.

Cathy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University, and in 2013 was recognized as an “Outstanding Alum” by the College of Media and Communication.

In addition to being a real estate agent, Cathy is a mediator who received her mediation training from the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution at the University of Texas School of Law.

Cathy was raised on her family ranch in the Rio Grande Valley. As a teen, she lived abroad spending one summer living with a family in Sweden and another summer with a family in Brazil as part of a cultural exchange program.
