About Chad
With nearly two decades in the real estate business, Chad Church specializes in both seller, and buyer representation of REO properties.
As a buyer, the difference you get with Chad as opposed to other Realtors, is an unbridled, honest opinion of the facts surrounding your purchase. He has a few well known quotes he shares with his buyers, and sellers; "you don't have to like what I say, but you can count on it being the truth," and "I'll tell you the good the bad, and the ugly." It's Chad's straight forward, professional approach to purchasing, and selling that has created a loyal, and appreciative referral based client following.
Chad grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts, and went to college in New Mexico. While there, he worked as a reporter and producer for a local television station. After college, he spent six months working in Alaska over the summer. In 1993, he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked in the journalism field for a short while, before becoming licensed to sell real estate. While living in Denver, he completed multiple flips, coached clients/friends on flipping property, and made a lot of people a good deal of money. In 2005, Chad moved to Prague in the Czech Republic for six months, then he moved to Brazil for eight months. While there, he filmed a documentary on the street kids of Brazil. In 2006, Chad moved back to the US. He settled in Durham, NC., where he managed several flip projects, and consulted as the designer on all. After the market in North Carolina took a beating in 2007, Chad found himself looking, for as he says, a safe place to bury his head in the sand for a bit. He found the most livable city in the United States, Pittsburgh. he liked the steady, yet reasonable appreciation of the city, and saw that there was a great deal of potential for investment. Chad has been in Pittsburgh since 2007, and has gained a special appreciation for the city and it's present and exciting future.
From 2012-2018 Chad took a hiatus, and moved from Pittsburgh to North Dakota to Take a position as Director of Operations for an oil field Company. He then was offered a position in 2016 in the development of a boutique hotel in Costa Rica. While he gained an immeasurable amount of knowledge working in the institutional realm of development, a year in the 3rd World was enough for him. He jumped a plane to Europe, deciding to focus on his life long passion of writing. He landed in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria where he finished his manuscript he is currently working on publishing. In the fall of 2018, Chad returned to Pittsburgh like most who travel away from here do. He has clients as far away as Australia. and as close as East Liberty.
He knows the numbers, because he's spent the money himself. Chad purchased his own first home for $38,000, and sold it eight years later for $255,000, after putting about $40,000 in to it. his second home he purchased for $220,000, put $80,000 into it, and sold it 2 years later for $450,000.
Chad's corporate client list includes GMAC, Nationstar, Corelogic, Chase, WAMU, Freddie Mac, BSI-MCM, and Atlantic National Trust to mention a few. While it's Chad's preference to work with investors, and corporate entities, he also works with Luxury home buyers, and first time buyers. When asked about his philosophy, Chad had this to say.
