About Chelsea

Licensed as an Oregon Broker since 2005, she has been fortunate to experience many facets of the industry and multiple phases and trends in the market. This knowledge and a desire to deliver an exceptional level of service to her clients has defined her career. She grew up in a family of realtors. Her grandmother and role model, Peggy Gensman, started Metro West Realty in Tualatin, OR at a time prior to female entrepreneurship being the accepted and common occurrence it is today. Their business was founded on sincere and trusting relationships, which has continued to be the most rewarding component of her job. Her grandmother’s passion and commitment spread to her daughters, Randi Ausland and Leann Bennett, and eventually on to her. Although real estate has proven to be an ideally suited career, it was important for her to find her own path. In other words, she was driven to pursue a career outside of the family business. Initially destined for nursing, when she was in college, she began renovating homes on the side. It was at this point that she recognized, appreciated, and fell in love with Portland’s historic homes and neighborhoods. This experience sparked her interest in architecture, interior design and the restoration process. Her career officially began in 2002 when she started buying and selling investment property, including foreclosed homes. From 2005-2007, she helped develop the Portland territory for The Foreclosure Group LLC, now “Vestus”. Her responsibilities included training investors how to navigate buying, renovating, and selling property. In 2008, she expanded her business and focused on residential sales in the Portland metro area. By 2010 she had received her Certified EcoBroker license to gain more knowledge and experience with the growing demand for “green homes”. She also received her Sustainability Training Certification with the Earth Advantage Institute. She’s found that her clients are increasingly drawn towards making energy efficient and environmentally sensitive choices when buying or selling a home. She’s able to communicate the value and benefits associated with green features, building concepts and trends. Her goal has remained focused on being a comprehensive real estate service for her clients. Whether investment property, acreage in wine country, a classic bungalow or a contemporary urban loft, she has developed the skills and experience to navigate the entire real estate process and help her clients find the ideal location. She prides herself on giving her clients the most accurate and up to date information in today’s market. As the market changes, so does she. With continuing education, constant market research and a passion for construction and design she’s able to keep her clients confidently informed. She’s privileged to say that this is her dream job. Every day presents new and exciting challenges. She is dedicated to being thorough, knowledgeable and detail oriented. Her goal is to make the process of buying or selling as easy and fun as possible. Through this approach, she has built lifelong business relationships and friendships with her clients.

We are so happy to have had the chance to work with Chelsea Ausland to sell our house with an ADU in Portland. Chelsea was incredibly patient and responsive during the entire process, from evaluating whether and when to sell our house, to preparing for listing, to assessing offers, to shepherding us through closing. Ours was a unique property, and Chelsea knew exactly how to market it. Every single recommendation she made was spot on. Thanks to Chelsea we found a wonderful buyer who offered a very competitive price. The entire experience could not have been more seamless. We are moving out of state and can only hope to find as qualified, professional, and personable an agent in our new location. We wish we could take her with us!

Working with Chelsea made a tough buyers market much easier to navigate. She was supportive and understanding through the purchasing process, including over the course of a few challenges (concerns about potential repairs needed, a mortgage broker that I found highly annoying, etc.). She went along with my ideas for modifying form contracts to protect my interests and worked her magic to make sure these ideas didn't send the seller running. I would recommend her to any of my friends and family.

You two have been so awesome to work with. This has been a long process prepping Ladd....then listing...looking...looking...and wallah!!!! The perfect home presented itself at the perfect time! Just like you said. Thank you both for holding our hand through this process. To top it off...you still took the time to answer our design questions. I might have more for you so thank you in advance for the offer!!
I don’t know what to say....other than there is no way...no way....this would have gone as smoothly without you! Not only that... you knew to push the property and did the legwork to make the septic approval happen!! On top of that....you found us the perfect buyers....and the perfect Charby forever home!
