Hello! I am Chris Barr, an Ashe County native who entered the real estate business after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Emory and Henry College with a degree in business management in 1996.
I started my real estate career at Jefferson Landing, a golf and residential community located on the New River in Ashe County. In my twelve years at Jefferson Landing, I was named the top producer for eleven straight years since 1997. In 2016, I received the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation. In 2017, was transaction leader and total sales leader with 90 side transactions and over 16.5M in sales. In June 2018, I became affiliated with Realty One Group Results, I finished 2018 as the top Broker with Realty One in the State of North Carolina with 87 side transactions and total sales exceeding $14M. In 2019 I finished with 90 side transactions and over $15M in sales and was the top Broker with Realty One in the State of North Carolina, 2 years in a row. Sales have continued to increase in the 2020 topping $30M in 2022 & $39M in 2023 Finishing as the top Broker in the State of NC with Realty One Group for the 6th consecutive year. I was recently ranked in the Top 1% of agents nationwide by Real Trends and The Wall Street Journal for 2022 and 2023. My real estate philosophy is that each client is hopefully a friend for life! It’s all about relationships and having the commitment to give the best service possible. Real estate purchases are large financial commitments and regardless of whether one is a first-time home buyer or seasoned investor, and regardless of the price, each transaction should be handled with the same enthusiasm and specific attention to detail. I work by my motto: If something is worth doing, it is worth doing right! On a personal note, I am married to the former Kelly Barlow, an Ashe County native as well, and have one daughter, Emery, and 2 step-sons, Sid and Jesse. My hobbies, working out, scuba diving, snow skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
