Chris Dunkin

Chris Dunkin, is the Broker/Owner of Star Tex Real Estate. Chris, Ron, and their son, Shawn moved to Buda in 1985. Chris worked for First Consolidated Bank (now Falcon Bank) in Buda, from 1986 to 1993 as the Loan Operations Officer.

In 1994, Michael Thames Custom Homes hired Chris to oversee the bookkeeping and financial administration for the rapidly growing construction business. In 2004, she formed Buda Kyle Real Estate, and merged her financial business into the real estate company. Chris then earned her Texas Real Estate broker’s license. In 2011, Chris changed the company name to Star Tex Real Estate in order to diversify and expand into a full service property management, residential and commercial real estate brokerage serving Hays County and surrounding areas.

Chris has been active in the community for many years. From serving on the Hays Youth Soccer Association board, in the Hays Athletic Booster club and as the Building committee chair for Buda UMC she strives to use her skills to meet needs in the community. Chris currently serves on the Hays YMCA Hays board of directors, is the Vice Chair for the Hays YMCA annual campaign, is active in Hays Praise Emmaus, and is a member of both the Buda and Kyle Chambers of Commerce.

Chris has a passion for helping others. Currently, Star Tex Real Estate gives 10% of our earned commissions to local area non-profit organizations. She believes that most everyone would give if they could financially afford to do so, and the giving back program allows Chris, the Star Tex Team and our valued clients to share in giving back to the community.
