I have lived in this area since 1971 and have run businesses, bought and sold homes, land, commercial and investment properties. I continue to call this vibrant area of King George and Colonial Beach, my home, with my wife where we raise our 4 boys and enjoy the area attractions, events, and resources.
In 1971, Dahlgren was my Father’s last move with the Navy before retirement. After retirement, my family stayed here, started businesses and became Professional Realtors. I have been around the Real Estate business from a very early age and understand it very well. I have worked with contractors and built houses. In my family, we love to boat, fish, camp, and enjoy the area parks. I am an avid scuba diver and we love to visit the ocean. This area is perfect for many reasons but one is the equal distance between the mountains and the ocean for family vacations. The Dahlgren Navy base continues to grow and King George County is the fastest growing county in the state of Virginia. Our area is seeing an increased rise in interest from commercial businesses and retirees from the Washington DC area without losing its rural feel. Fredericksburg, VA and Waldorf, MD are only a 45 minute drive to shopping, movie theaters, restaurants, and world class historical events and locations.
Further down the Northern Neck is a continuous flow of beauty and nature. Farm lands and scenic waterfront in abundance give the area charm and character. Quaint downtowns and unique restaurants are there to explore. Colonial Beach is continuing to develop as a charming beach town with unique shops and artists. Recently, the NY Times wrote an article on the qualities and “well-kept secret” of the Northern Neck.
