Born and raised in Calvert County, Chrystal has been a full-time agent for 9 years. Although she lived away from the region for a short time, she knew that she wanted to raise her children here and returned to the area as quickly as she could. Southern Maryland truly offers something for all its residents; you can live close to the city but still get a very small-town feel, reflected in the many activities and programs offered all year long. The summer, however, is the best time to be a Southern Marylander! Calvert County puts a lot of emphasis on buying local and hosts multiple farmer’s markets, most notably in North Beach and now in Dunkirk. Many local farmers sell produce, meat, and flowers, and other small businesses partake in the events! The Calvert Marine Museum in southern Calvert is another great spot for families, and of course, you have access to great shopping from one end of the county to the other!

Calvert County, and Southern Maryland in general, have housing markets that are growing at a phenomenal pace. Settling in this area is a great option for many because you are within an hour’s drive to the metropolitan D.C. and Baltimore areas but far enough out to get more value with your property choices. It is predicted that property values in this area will continue to climb, so there is little risk involved in making the investment now!
