Cindy Baird was born in Columbus, GA, and moved to Maryland when she was very young; her military family was transferred there. Cindy stayed in Maryland while graduating from the University of Maryland at the College Park campus. Her first job was working for an apartment community as a leasing agent, moving up in the company to the marketing director until she moved to Germany with her family. Cindy returned to Georgia in 2000, moving to St Simons Island, and now couldn't imagine living elsewhere; her children and their families have also made the Golden Isles home. Cindy remembers her first morning waking up on St Simons Island, racing out to the beach, literally feeling her good fortune, so grateful that she was now living her dream of being able to live by the ocean! There is so much beauty: the sea, the beaches, the massive oak trees with hanging moss, and the magnificent sunsets; this area is one of the most beautiful places on this earth. Cindy also says that what is especially appealing is that the Golden Isles are spectacular, and the people who live here honestly care about one another. Old-timers and newcomers all feel a unique sense of community and enjoy all that this area offers. Before landing on St Simons Island, Cindy had the pleasure of living overseas and in several states within the United States, where she renovated her residences. She is often told she has an uncanny eye for design. When she moved to St Simons, Cindy drew out the kind of home she wanted and then set about having it built. Cindy, using this skill, has a way of helping her clients imagine what a home could be.
