Cindy Nelson Katsenes

Cynthia (Cindy) Nelson Katsenes is an Orland Park Trustee and Mayor Pro Tem, licensed real estate broker, and a three-decade resident of Orland Park.

In an effort to put people over politics in Orland Park, Katsenes ran and was successfully elected as a Village Trustee in 2019, where she currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem. She was as a Trustee for the Orland Fire Protection District from 2001 to 2007, and while serving as a Trustee she was also a Member of the Northern Alliance of Fire Protection Districts. She was also a Board Member for the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors, serving on several different committees, including the Government Affairs Committee.

For over 30 years, she has been assisting buyers and sellers in the Orland Township area as a licensed real estate broker. This connection to residents has given Katsenes insight as to why people move their families to the Orland Township area and more importantly, why they choose to stay. As a successful real estate broker, she understands the impact that taxes and good government have on property values and the budgets of working families.

Katsenes is married to Chris, an Orland Park attorney. They have 2 adult children: Kristin, a nurse practitioner, and Katie, a high school science teacher. Both children are graduates of Orland District 135, Carl Sandburg High School, and the University of Illinois. They welcomed their family’s first grandchild, Luca, last year and she enjoys spending time with him. Katsenes has a Bachelor of Arts (with Honors) in Communications from Governors State University in 2002.
