About Craig
Dr. Craig McDaniel is a native Roman and a 1971 graduate of West Rome High School. He received his B.S. in Business Management from Carson-Newman College, Master’s degree from Georgia State University, and Doctorate from the University of Georgia in 2005.
He retired from the Technical College System of Georgia in 2013 as Assistant Commissioner of the International Center. Prior to that he served as President of Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Coosa Valley Technical College from 1998 to 2013. His career at Coosa Valley Tech began in 1979. In 2014 he was designated President Emeritus by the Technical College System of Georgia Board of Directors.
He served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce in 2002 and was Chairman of the Rome Floyd Development Authority that same year.He was President of Rome Rotary in 2009-2010 and currently serves as Vice President of the club.
He has served on the Board of Directors of Redmond Regional Medical Center since 1999 and chaired the board from 2005 to 2008. He was chosen to chair the Rome Floyd 20/20 Steering Committee in 2008 and chaired the Rome Floyd Citizens for Better Education SPLOST Committee that same year. He was a member of the Heart of the Community Board of Governors from 1999 to 2006, Chieftains Museum Board of Directors from 1998 to 2002, and the Rome Baseball Committee in 2001. He is a past board member of the United Way of Rome and Floyd County and chaired the 2013 campaign.
He is a graduate of Leadership Rome, a recipient of the Virginia D. Hamilton Special Achievement Award, the 2004 Wesley F. Johnson Award of Merit, and is a 2008 recipient of the Heart of the Community Award.
He is a member of the Greater Rome Board of Realtors, Georgia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
His primary focus with Toles, Temple and Wright will be commercial real estate. ” I am honored to be a part of the region’s premiere real estate firm,” McDaniel said. “I feel my past experience in the community will benefit those wanting to buy or sell property.
