Dan Smith

Born in Ohio and raised in San Diego, Dan returned to San Diego in 1978 from working on the Tran-Union Alaska Pipeline. Being a second-generation real estate enthusiast, Dan purchased his first residential property in Allied Gardens in the early 1980’s. With hard work, patience and vision, Dan was able to expand his real estate portfolio over the past 40 years to now include over 300,000 square feet of commercial/residential properties.

Although stepping down as acting President/CEO of El Dorado Properties in 2015, Dan continues his passive real estate investing and brokerage activities while being El Dorado’s most knowledgeable land use consult.

“Mr. Grantville” as sometimes referred, Dan has served the Navajo Community of San Diego for over 25 years on various planning groups, committees, and land use projects. Dan has two children, Danielle and David whom both work for the family company as acting brokers and principles. Residing in Allied Gardens, Daniel enjoys traveling, body surfing, good food and the great outdoors.
