About Darlene
Darlene Lopez knows through experience that life can change in an instant. On September 11, 2001, she was in New York, working as a retailer/buyer. She saw the horror and confusion from the moment a plane crashed into the first tower that day. That tragedy taught her to be grateful for every second, a principle she applies to her life today.
Darlene was raised in La Mirada, California. Her work ethic comes from her parents, who were conservative planners, never taking anything for granted. Her mentors are numerous, as she insists that there are three things in life that will help you achieve your goals: hard work, great coaches and family support. Some of her most important mentors are her husband (for his sound advice and clarity), her children (because they see all possibilities) and her younger sister (who sees the good in everyone).
Real estate first attracted Darlene because she just loved houses. She loved design, and spent lots of time looking at model homes, attending open houses and even viewing distressed homes for possibilities. She knew she was destined for a career in real estate, however, when her first transaction resulted from knocking on the door of a home that was a for sale by owner (FSBO). She already had a buyer in hand for them, and as a result ended up working with both the buyer and seller on the $800,000 deal. Although in retrospect it was a complicated situation, at the time she felt it to be simple, proving that she’s never been afraid of hard work. Another trait that sets her apart is that her relationships with her clients never really end at the closing.
Since that door knocking knockout, Darlene has immersed herself in real estate, studying to become the best aid to her clients that she can be. Today, she specializes in providing caring and complete guidance to people who are right-sizing (whether up or down) and in transition, so they can obtain a home more suited to their current needs and lifestyle. She has developed a network of professionals for every step of the process, and puts together ‘mega’ open houses and events, proven to aid a swift and smooth transition. In addition, she is currently working on her SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) accreditation. Darlene believes buying or selling your home is more than a transaction...it’s a transition into the next phase of life. And it’s why she became known as ‘?Your Transition Agent?’.
When Darlene isn’t turning complicated transactions into smooth transitions, she spends a great deal of time cooking, visiting her parents at their mountain cabin, and spending time with her family. She still has aspirations of going to Ireland one day, and dreams of standing on a balcony with an ocean view, feeling the breeze, and not being in a hurry to leave. While working toward her own bucket list, Darlene Lopez is committed to helping you achieve your own goals with gratefulness and joy, whatever your transition in life may be.
