David Jasso

Born and raised in the City of Santa Barbara, I have been appraising Santa Barbara County Real Estate since 1970. This has allowed me to develop a special familiarity and broad knowledge of the appraisal needs particular to our distinctive area and market. Limiting my appraisal practice exclusively to Santa Barbara County permits me to focus and apply that knowledge to correctly evaluate and appraise those unique characteristics in both North and South County. I have the years of training, local expertise and resources required to address all types of properties, situations and market trends.

As a State Certified General Appraiser (SCREA), I am licensed to appraise all types of properties for any purpose, including purchase, refinance, estate planning including date of death and trust issues, divorce, partnership dissolution, taxes, insurance purposes, bankruptcy, historical dates of value and partial interest valuations. I have extensive experience evaluating, consulting and appraising Single Family Residences, condominiums, estates, motels, ranches, and apartments as well as commercial properties including office, warehouse, mixed use and industrial buildings. Working with attorneys I have served as an expert witness in State Superior Court and Bankruptcy Courts in California and Texas.

I offer a well-rounded perspective to all aspects of real estate. My employment prior to opening my independent practice in 1985 includes Appraisal Department Supervisor for institutional lenders, teaching Real Estate Appraisal classes at Santa Barbara City College, Title Company Plant Manager, supervising the title search and engineering departments and serving in the US Navy during the 1960’s as part of Construction Battalion 10 – STAT (Seabee Technical Assistance Team) #2. In addition, I have served as Past President of the Santa Barbara chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers and past member (SRA, SRPA) of the Appraisal Institute.
