David’s mother is a very good friend of mine. This is why, when I told people that I wanted him to be my Realtor, they disagreed. ‘Stay away from friends and family’ they said. ‘You’ll regret it and will also lose your friend of half a century’ they told me. My children trusted my judgement, they thought I should go with David if that is what I wanted.

I had planned to sell my home in 2024, upon turning 80, but decided to make some changes that I could enjoy at least for two years. He came to my house and we both looked at what needed to be done. After a careful assessment, he asked me how much I was planning to spend. This question caught me by surprise because others I had consulted had quickly told me what I should do. I immediately had the impression that my opinion counted, that he was willing to listen. At that moment I knew I had made the right choice.

Changing the kitchen appliances, which was the first thing I decided to do, turned into a nightmare that lasted from November through March. I told David that I couldn’t handle any more stress. This is when fate took over, combined with all sorts of coincidences and events that David managed to everyone’s advantage. My house was sold ‘as is’ at a good price. I was even able to stay in the house for two months after the sale.

Once I was open to the idea of selling the house ahead of schedule, David started taking me to see apartments. We visited developments so that I could see the kind of surroundings I liked, the type of apartment I wanted, the setting that would make me feel comfortable. David was always very optimistic, always positive, never showing signs of being tired or rushed; it was as if when he was with me, I was the only client he had.

David quickly understood my problem with technology. He arranged that all requests for electronic answers (signatures, photos of documents, reading material that required further action) be routed through him. When information had to be uploaded, he would come to my home and do it for me.

Exactly ten days passed from the time I sold my home until my offer for the apartment was accepted. That was a nerve wracking time but David was always optimistic and confident that we would find the right place at the right time. As an added bonus, he found me a place in the development I had mentioned even before we started the search.

I would recommend David to anyone who is planning to sell their home, or buy a new one, or both. The exception confirms the rule, they say, and it may be true: a friend may turn out to be just the person you need in this situation.

He was extremely patient and honest when showing me different homes all over NOVA and answered any and all of my questions throughout the entire process. David was a referral from our friend, who had an excellent experience working with him. In early 2021 David came to our old house to discuss our potential sale of the house and to start mapping out finding our future home. Our entire experience of finding our new home (and getting it) to selling our old home lasted from March to July of 2021. The market truly was bananas and he was upfront and realistic with us about our offers on houses and the listing on our home. We could not have asked for a more reliable and trustworthy realtor. At the time David was working on building out his team, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the people he works with, it is because of that team effort that our experience was as successful as it was. David was prompt in responding any request and questions, and went above and beyond by providing information on moving/home cleaning/any repairing services to make the move in easier.

Hands down the best realtor in Norther Virginia! We worked with David to buy our first home and then a couple of years later to sell that home and upgrade to a new one. David and his team are extremely professional, flexible, and knowledgeable.

As first time home buyers we had a lot of questions and concerns, but David was with us every step of the way making sure we had answers and stayed well informed throughout the process.

When we decided to sell that home, we knew we wanted to work with David and his team. David made sure we had what we needed to get top dollar for our property. My wife and I met David at an open house over 2 years ago when first looking for a home. While we weren't able to purchase initially he helped me sell my condominium and gave us advice while we looked for temporary rentals. When it came time to try again at purchasing a home David was our first choice. He was always available to help us with questions, and if he wasn't available for a showing he made sure that one of his teammates could get us in the house - a huge deal with how fast the market was this spring, he'd even answer our messages or calls late at night instead of sticking to "business hours". He helped us through multiple offers guiding us on what we were comfortable with to put together a winning offer that wouldn't put us in a bad spot. He also acted as a part-time psychologist helping with the emotional aspects of going in on a house against 20+ offers.
After everything we consider David a personal friend and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a realtor in the Northern Virginia area.

I had a relatively quick timeline when purchasing my first home. However, just from my first meeting with David, I knew that he was very trustworthy. Through the entire process, David was honest with me. He answered all of my questions in a timely and friendly manner. Even after everything was finished, David was still there to answer my questions and provide help.

What can I say about David Raffinengo? Where does one begin....I met David through a friend who highly reccomended David as an honest and caring realator who strives to get good people in the best housing for them. Not to mention he has been in the buisness for a long time.
We decided to give David a chance and so began our adventure. David would send us listings and we would meet on the weekends and go look at houses together. He took his time and got to understand what we were looking for. This process can take a while and we apprecieted his patience. He even treated us to coffee and sanwhiches one weekend!
You know how insane the market has become - we were looking for houses on the front end of this insane time. We would find a house but by the time we got home and decided it was something we wanted to move forward on - it was ready gone or pending or in contract.
As the weeks went by - the situation became more intense. We almost gave up. David would call us and calmly talk to us or get us laughing and get our minds back in the game. Well, one weekend we found a house that had like 85% of what we wanted and in great condition. Without David, we would not have gotten that house. Luckily we were only competing against four other buyers on this one. Still, you know how competitive the process can be. David knew how to bring the human element and finess the negotiation with honest professionalism and a warm heart. He knew exactly what we needed to do to get that house. The concessions, the amount to offer and how to present our offer and so much more.
I remember the day David called and told me that we got the house! It was an amazing moment and I think we were all so happy but also a little in shock because you never really know whats going to haopen but I think David was very confident. We have so much to be thankful for.
Not only is David a great realator, warm and kind hearted but he knows everyone! The mortgage company (McClean Mortgage) he recomended us were/are amazing - fast, professional and smart. We were able to get the best interest rate ever. The title company that he connected us with - Titan Tiltle - also amazing. The insurance comany was able to come up with better rates than my normal insursnce company. David's admin team were outstanding and really helped me through the process. In this digital- COVID time, everything is done through docusign and online platforms - they were able to guide me through the whole process and kept me from going nuts. Lol
When you work with David, you are working with someone who is working hard to get you in the home you desire. David knows what to look for in houses - the things that really matter and he will walk you through everything and educate you on all kinds of aspects involved with buying a home. David knows how to raise your spirits when you get outbid on a house and he will have you laughing and motivated to get back out there!
David is more than a realator ~ he is our friend and we are honored to have had the chance to work with him and guide us through our home buying adventure. Thank you David.

David helped my wife and I buy our 5th home; so it wasn't our first rodeo. That being said, I can honestly say that this was the best experience we have had. David was recommended to us from a friend who had just purchased a house with him as well. We closed on our new home in Fairfax at the beginning of March, and we did the ENTIRE home buying process from Miami. In January, I read an article about how there were XX% of homebuyers who purchased their homes sight unseen because of the pandemic. I remember thinking to myself "what kind of idiot would do that?" Well, David made the process so easy and kept us so incredibly informed with his experienced opinions that it was as if we had been to the house a million times. It was a great purchase, and I look forward to making it our home. In fact, to close this long winded recommendation out, we are STILL working with David, who is helping to oversee a remodel of the house we bought while we see to moving up there from Miami... what an awesome human being. When I finally decided it was time to downsize there was no one else that I would have asked to help me except David.  While David has many years of real estate experience, knowledge and transactions under his belt, it is his character that mattered most to me.  Having a real estate agent who genuinely cares about you and your family and the emotional highs and lows you experience moving from a home you have raised your family in for 20 years to your next forever home is very comforting and reassuring.  He listened, knew the right questions to ask (easy & hard ones), was responsive, open and honest. David was truly a blessing. He is very honest with his clients on the market, values, numbers, etc. He isn't looking to just sell you a house for commission, he wants to help you find a home.
