About Derek

Derek is the in-house guys' guy. Derek always has something in common with everyone he meets. Born and raised in Chattanooga and graduate of Notre Dame High School class of '92. He built homes and did remodeling for 17 years from the coast of South Carolina to the Hill Country of North Mississippi, to the Lost Coast of Northern California and back again before sinking his teeth into real estate.

Derek dove all in and secured several designations demonstrating his commitment to his profession. He holds the Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certificate, Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) designation from the National Association of Home Builders and most recently completed both the NAR Commitment to Excellence (C2X) and the NAR Green designation from the National Association of Realtors where he is also a member of the Green REsource Council.

Derek finds it rewarding to assist buyers and sellers in their real estate needs and finds it to be an honor and privilege to help active military and Veterans secure the dream of homeownership. Through his efforts in becoming a top producer for Scout Realtor Group he works to improve his knowledge of emerging markets and current local market conditions as well as legislative issues that affect private property rights on the local, state, and national levels.

Within the real estate community, Derek is very active, especially in governmental affairs and community organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Chattanooga Realtors for several years and is currently serving as the President of Greater Chattanooga Realtors.

Derek's journeys took him down many roads, but the road to his real estate career isn't a surprise as his family has been involved in the industry since his father's ancestors landed on Ellis Island. His father is still an active real estate agent and developer in the Nashville area.

In Derek’s free time he enjoys the benefits of living in the gracious and beautiful city of Chattanooga with his wife, Becky, and the newest addition to their family, Willa, an 8-year-old Boxer with a lot of personality. When he isn't working, you can usually catch Derek in his workshop, yard, garage or around the BBQ.
