Agent Derek Payne holds diverse and extensive market knowledge of build sites, recreational properties, farms, and rural homes on acreage in a wide geographic area covering all of Northwest MO and the KC surrounding areas. At Midwest Land Group, he’s able to bring together his passions of conservation and hunting heritage, and has the benefit of a whole team of agents working in the same market area.
Derek grew up on a cattle farm in Marceline, MO, worked on a wildlife ranch, and graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor’s in Wildlife Conservation and Management. Prior to becoming a land agent, he worked at Cabela’s as a Wildlife & Land Management salesman, selling tractors and implements, as well as a regional director for the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).
With great knowledge of subdividing farms to gain the most value for a property, Derek has earned multiple awards for being a top producer within Midwest Land Group, closing nearly 50 transactions per year. His passion for the outdoors and vast background in wildlife bring him a unique and personal perspective to selling land, along with the utmost professionalism and desire to succeed.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys Ranger rides, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He’s a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and Quality Deer Management Association, and volunteers for the NWTF Springtown Wattlenecks. Derek lives in Lawson, MO, with his wife, Britni.
