Derek has been amazing. From the moment we first met him he has been nothing less than helpful, knowledgeable, resourceful and encouraging.
We were first-time home buyers and the whole process of buying a home seemed so new and daunting. Derek really took us by the hand right from the start, from our first offer up to closing day. I recently set out to purchase my first home, knowing absolutely nothing other than the area I was interested in. After inquiring about a house, I received a response less than 10 minutes later and was matched to Derek Walvoord.
Throughout the process, Derek remained professional, personable, extremely patient, and was never less than thorough when answering mine and my family's questions. He is remarkably knowledgable with not just the home buying process but also the Chicago South Side, and historic preservation/rehabbing homes. His obvious respect and love for our neighborhood is truly worth mentioning.

Finding your first home can be very stressful and complicated especially during a crazy market, but Derek was fantastic in helping us find our perfect home! He was excellent at answering all of our questions and was super responsive.

We looked at a lot of older homes as part of our interest and Derek was able to gives us some great historical context on the unique features that we ran into. It is clear that he has been in the business for some time and knows a lot about the houses he was showing.

In addition to finding our house, Derek did a great job at lending a helping hand with the whole home buying process since this was our first time buying which came to be extremely valuable. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a home to go through Derek, and I would definitely use his services again in the future!

HIRE HIM! I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience working with Derek! He went above and beyond from the moment we started working together and I was delighted to see he knew about buildings themselves and could point out things like metal stairs vs fire doors, standings left on floors, etc. On top of that, he was tenacious in closing the deal. Due to exterior forces, this was a rollercoaster of a deal and I am absolutely convinced I wouldn’t have been able to close on this place if I had any other Relator! Plus, he’s personable, takes things in stride, always has a joke, and is exactly who you want in your corner when the stress is getting to you! For real, if you are looking for a Relator who is going to get things done, look no further.
