That’s the motto of Derrick’s business and the mission of his life. Things haven't always been roses. But it takes dirt to grow. The things that he wants out of business are the same things that he wants out of life. Even when life has thrown Derrick curveballs, it's how you dust yourself off, adjust, compete and triumph.

Derrick is a real estate broker who has lived in Naperville and serviced the greater Chicagoland area for over a decade. He began in the real estate industry at the ripe age of twelve, watching and helping his parents as they bought and sold several investment properties and managed rental properties. Derrick attended and graduated with honors from Oral Roberts University in 2007 with a degree in Finance.

After graduation, Derrick came back home to Chicago to work in corporate America for ComEd for 4 years in Finance related roles. In Derrick’s off time at night and on the weekends, he pursued his passion of working in real estate. In 2012, Derrick left to pursue his passion of a full-time career in real estate. In the beginning of his career, he spent 5 years learning to sell and being mentored by an agent that had listings across all 6 major counties in Chicago (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will, Lake) in price points from entry level condos to large luxury estates and everything in between. My responsibilities involved:
•Running comps to find pricing.
•Developing and managing the marketing strategy.
•Coordinating showings and open houses.
•Helping ensure the contract to close process went smoothly.

While thankful for the chance to work and learn, there came a time to pursue different challenges and opportunities as his skill set grew and as the market changed. That's why Derrick is now affiliated with @properties.
