Don was an invaluable resource in our "LONG" home search process! We looked for that perfect house for over 2 years, constantly visiting properties and discussing the specific items we were looking for in our first home. Don, took dozens of trips with us to see houses across a GIANT territory, each time advising us along the way. One of the most important aspects for our home search was the ability to put in the best offer possible, while keeping our internal safeguards in place. Don helped us ensure that our offer was competitive, while keeping in contingencies that protected us as first time home buyers. We hope that our first home is our forever home, however if we ever decide to look elsewhere again, we will ABSOLUTELY use Don and his team!

I'm a builder in Howard County. I am in the home building/selling business and have done dealt with all the top producing real estate agents in Howard and surrounding counties. I also built my personal home in 2004. In late 2020 I decided to sell. I interviewed four top producing real estate agents in Howard County to give me a competitive analysis. I knew the market a bit, but wanted to get their feedback and decide which one to go with. What was important to me in a listing agent was: knowledge of the market, ability to generate leads, professionalism, honesty, integrity, and no BS. Often times agents will tell you want they think you want to here and hook you with an agreement. Then that unreal inflated price they promised slowly drops down to market reality. Don Fitzgerald was different. He came prepared with market comps, and met with me to discuss a real strategy to sell my home. Taking into account my homes positive features and its few but existing negative issues, together with Don's recommendation, we came up with a real plan that I was comfortable with. Next Don brought in his team of pro design and staging experts to give professional direction on paint color, furniture placement, etc. if necessary. Once we decided what would be the best value of dollars to spend to optimize our asking price, Don put the plan in motion. In no time, we were ready to sell. From the photographer to the contract and settlement, Don was on top of everything. Once we had a firm contract, Don navigated me through the process. He took care of everything. Don negotiated through all the after contract stuff that can make a difference to your bottom line. Although I had access to contractors, Don was able to fill in the gaps where needed, because he has contractors as well. The home and pool inspection was extensive. Some legitimate items but some not. Don was able to keep all parties focused on the ultimate goal of final settlement, keeping all human emotion in cruise control with communication and professionalism. Buyer happy, seller happy, win win for sure. Even the settlement company was great and for such a big home with a big price, it all went relatively smooth. I think Don is a great professional. In my case, his only goal was to get my home sold for the best bottom line. Can't go wrong listing your home with Don Fitzgerald.

We live out of state and put our rental property on the market. Having known Don Fitzgerald from the initial purchase 25 years ago, and with his expert help over those decades, he was the obvious choice for the seller agent.

With the complex details and cost of the remodeling, we anticipated roadblocks and delays, but with Fitz, it turned out to be one-stop shopping. He has arrangements with contractors that have earned his trust over time, and work was started and finished inside of a month.

The open house garnered multiple offers and we closed quickly, and well above asking price. Don knows the neighborhood and the market. No rookie misadventures! We made only one visit on the day of the open house and were very impressed with the quality of the preparation work for the price.

We know that he had multiple projects going on, but his attention to ALL of the details on a timeline always made us feel that we were his top priority. We sit back now and talk about how non-stressful it turned out to be!

When I started working with Don to sell my house in Maryland, I was stuck in Hawaii due to the pandemic, with my house not yet decluttered nor ready to go on the market. Don said, “no problem, we work with people remotely all the time to sell their houses.” So he brought in his team of declutterers/packers/stagers who got my house market-ready, with me not even being there. He also liaisoned with various repair people to get the house market-ready.

Being out of town, Don helped me with various things I would do if I had been there, including letting in repair people, and even finding vital records in my files that I needed for the title company, and photographing my car to help me sell that too.

When the house was finally on the market, some initial offers came in with complicated contingencies, and his advice for how to handle those was invaluable. Don could not have been nicer or more professional. He was a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend him.
