She was an excellent listener to my thoughts and desires regarding location, requirements and desires about a new home for me. She showed me options that fit what she had heard and also some to stretch my search which was very helpful. When it came down to viewing a place she was able to point out assets and drawbacks according to what she had heard from me. Donna was helpful in thinking through the financial options, knowing what I had shared with her about my financial circumstances. She was quick to give me new information and responded rapidly to my calls. In the final choice, Donna sought to negotiate, but sellers did not budge, and the place was what I wanted so I paid the asking price. She was quite efficient with all the process: gave me essential information about the market conditions and the selling process without cluttering me with unnecessary detail. It is difficult to know how effective a realtor is in promoting a sale, because the client does not see much of that work, but I could have a glimpse based on the comments left by some buyer agents suggesting that Donna has an extensive network of contacts that she uses to promote the sale. Donna was prompt in listing the house and had showings almost every week. The only think I believe she could have done better is taking some more time in selecting the photographs to include in the listing. Anyway, she responded effectively in changing any photographs to my request. Donna is a highly knowledgeable, energetic, and pragmatic real estate agent who was worth her weight in gold in the sale of my house. With twenty six years of experience, she has her finger on the pulse of the real estate market throughout Lexington. She guided me through the process of determining an appropriate selling price that resulted in two offers in the first day of showing. Given that the asking price was significantly above the appraised value determined for it, it is likely that a higher price would have only resulted in the house sitting on the market for several more stressful months with an eventual sale for the price it sold for or less. The real stress in the sale of my house was in dealing with the results of the inspection. But Donna made this much more tolerable, both as a repository of information and connections needed to make cost-effective repairs under severe time constraint and as psychologist/ cheerleader in ushering me through the stress. How many real estate agents would volunteer to clean out the residue from your attic to meet a tight closing date deadline? Doug Turnbull Donna Elder of Remax Creative Realty in Lexington, Kentucky listed and successfully sold my townhouse. It just closed. This was not an easy deal as the market is flat and both I and the bank had to take a loss. Nonetheless, Donna stuck with it and managed to negotiate a short sale with the bank. If you have never been involved in one, believe me, it is not easy. It is very tricky and involves a lot more work that a straight sale. With twenty six years of experience, she has her finger on the pulse of the real estate market throughout Lexington. She guided me through the process of determining an appropriate selling price that resulted in two offers in the first day of showing. Given that the asking price was significantly above the appraised value determined for it, it is likely that a higher price would have only resulted in the house sitting on the market for several more stressful months with an eventual sale for the price it sold for or less. The real stress in the sale of my house was in dealing with the results of the inspection. But Donna made this much more tolerable, both as a repository of information and connections needed to make cost-effective repairs under severe time constraint and as psychologist/ cheerleader in ushering me through the stress. How many real estate agents would volunteer to clean out the residue from your attic to meet a tight closing date deadline?
