About Ed
Edwards F. “Ed” McLaughlin is the enthusiastic and energetic President and Co-Owner of Bovard-Anderson. Under his leadership, the company is a “realtor-of-choice” for property buyers, sellers, property management services and renters in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The company combines superb market knowledge with sophisticated technology tools to provide customers with high-quality information for making some of the most important decisions of their lives.
As a family-owned business since 1904, spanning four generations, Bovard-Anderson has an enduring reputation for fair, honest dealings. The company strives at all times to exceed customers’ expectations, using a “whatever it takes” approach to remove obstacles to successful transactions and where “everyone wins.” As well, the company is renowned for its exceptional commitment to community service.
Ed and his wife Jacqueline purchased the company in 1992 from John and Joetta “Nicky” McLaughlin. Since that time, under their guidance, Bovard-Anderson has nearly tripled its business activity. Unlike other realtors, the company’s culture is not hierarchy-based – Ed continues a back-breaking schedule of house-showings and customer meetings, and the staff all share in a variety of responsibilities.
After graduation from Grove City College in 1984, Ed was a production supervisor for a national home builder in Florida and New York. Among other projects, he oversaw an 8,000-acre planned community that involved construction of 200 homes per year as well as schools. After returning to his hometown of Beaver, he joined Bovard-Anderson. He has helped support local economic growth and housing initiatives through the redevelopment of such highly visible properties as the Third Street East condominium complex in Beaver and as well as numerous single family and multi family projects.
Emulating his parents and grandparents, Ed has a lifelong zest for community volunteer leadership. He is President of the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Beaver County during an era of major expansion. Active in his profession, he is a Past Director of the Beaver County Association of Realtors and is Chairman of Housing Opportunities, Inc., which assists low- to moderate-income individuals and families to secure and maintain adequate, affordable homeownership. He is a member of Certified Residential Brokers, a graduate of the Real Estate Institute and is an Accredited Buyer Representative and currently is a candidate to become a Certified Residential Specialist. Ed also holds a Broker/Appraiser certification for the State of Pennsylvania. He is an assistant coach for his son’s soccer team.
