Galina was responsive, professional, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the market. My partner and I worked with Amol when we responded to a Zillow apartment rental listing. Amol was responsive, professional, and communicative. He took time when we toured the apartment to discuss our needs. He was present, engaged, and personable. My sister and I worked with the agent Amol Malhi to find an apartment in Newtonville. He was by the best realtor we have ever worked with- patient, responsive and proactive about finding us something that fit our budget, timeline and list of must-haves. He also has the best listings in Newton, so if you're thinking of renting in the area, he's the agent to use! A+++ experience.

Fantastic experience! I'm relocating a large family with a dog to the Boston area and finding a dog-friendly, short term rental was no small feat. I left a message and heard back from an agent the next day. Galina was amazing. I had a signed lease in hand within 2 days. When she realized the urgency of finding a home to land in, she started to hustle us, the owner, we got a facetime tour with her immediately. She communicated promptly and clearly throughout the process and never missed a beat. Can't recommend them highly enough - extremely impressed.

I had an amazing experience working with Preservation Properties. I worked with Amy K. and she was a ray of SUNSHINE. Within one week she found us our dream place (seriously, I still can't believe it). And during a pandemic, no less.

I was shocked to see that they have some bad reviews. Honestly, I don't have one bad thing to say, so it seems likely that made some changes to address feedback they've received in the past.

They were super professional and guided me through the process. I've already recommended them to some of my friends who are thinking about moving outbound. And I'd recommend them to you!

When I decide to move again or to buy, they'll be the first ones I call.

My boyfriend and I decided we wanted an apartment in the Newton MA area and Amy Kaplan from Preservation Properties helped with every step! I first found the listing on Zillow, along with Amy's contact information. From the moment we spoke, Amy was diligent, professional, and sweet. She has been in the business for quite awhile and really knows what she's doing. Her response time is impeccable, through all forms of communication including text message, email, and phone. The process was super easy thanks to Amy. We saw the property, filled out the application, met the landlord, and signed the lease, all within a few days! Amy Kaplan helped me find the perfect rental for our family. We were moving from out of state but Amy made time when I was in the area, even if for a few hours. She had a great vision of where we should live with the kids and really helped us find the right location and the right home. Even after the contract was signed, she kept in touch to remind me of signing up for utilities and to let me know about happenings in the neighborhood which was so nice! Amy is professional, dedicated and knows the neighborhood well! She will work with you to find what you are looking for.

I couldn't more highly recommend Amy Kaplan and Preservation Properties. Amy was quick to respond, scheduled showings for us in less than 24 hours, worked through all of our paper work and made the process that can be very difficult and stressful an easy one. We were moving up to the area and had limited time to locate a place and had several "must haves" on our list. Amy met the list and exceeded our expectations. She also worked with the Landlord to assure that we had a perfect house ready to move into and we couldn't be more grateful for Amy and this group. There was some work needed to be done and everything was handled swiftly and easily and we were provided with top notch service. Amy was our Rental Realtor Consultant in August 2019.
We are an Australian family who have just relocated from France to Boston. In the months leading up to our move I was in contact via email with a realtor about our rental requirements and availability in the Newton area.
Once we arrived however, my scheduled appointment and viewings didn’t happen.
Amy at Preservation Properties became aware of our plight and immediately took action to find us a home. We had some urgency as our belongings had arrived and cleared customs and our temporary accommodation lease ended in a week.
Within a matter of hours, Amy had organized to inspect 8 properties the very next day. She also had a large list of back up properties for which she could arrange inspection on a second day if needed.
After inspecting a couple of properties, Amy very quickly was able to further assess our needs and even adjusted the viewing list and appointments to ‘find us a beautiful home’.
In less than 24 hours, we had found a fantastic rental and were working on the rental application.
Amy was extremely thorough with all the paperwork and lead us through the process. Her communication is superb! She kept in touch throughout and has been a terrific resource as we settle in a new country.
Amy knows Newton! As a true local, she has been able to assist us with recommendations for shopping, restaurants, doctors, hairdressers….!
Amy is very passionate about her work, efficient, approachable, professional and gets results!
My family and I are grateful for all Amy’s work which has enabled us to make the transition to our new country much faster and smoother.

My family and I had been in search of a rental home in Newton for several months with another broker. Most of the properties were in really poor condition or in a bad neighborhood. Then we saw this property listed under Preservation and contacted the agent. Amy Kaplan! She responded immediately and welcomed us so graciously and professionally. She showed us the property and told us that if we liked it that she could help with all the paperwork and walking us through the process. It was so much more easier than we were expecting and it was a bit more complicated due to the owners, but Amy got us through it all and within hours/days we knew we were getting a new home. When we arrived for signing all the documents, Amy was so organized that I was amazed. Everything was in order and she really went above and beyond. I would recommend all my friends or potential customers to Amy. Amy found us our dream apartment! I cannot thank her enough for her responsiveness and great communication throughout the entire process. We told Amy exactly what we were looking for, and she did not rest until she found us the perfect place. She was patient, kind, and knowledgeable.

I highly recommend using Amy if you are looking for a new place. She will put you in her car and drive you around town, explaining the area along the way. It was great working with someone who grew up in Newton and knew the area like the back of her hand.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experiance with Ed Lyon and Preservation Properties. I have been a landlord in Newton and Boston for over 35 years and Ed has been assisting me and my father with finding tenants for much of that time. Ed began working with my father in the late 80's and then myself in the mid 90's. We have received great advice and help over the years. Both myself and my father are contractors and try to keep our properties in good condition and the tenants that Preservation has found for us over the years were appreciative of that and we have been lucky to only have a few issues over the years. I believe Ed to be a honest guy that gives it to me straight and cares about his customers.

HONEST. UPFRONT. DILIGENT. CARING. VERY PERSONABLE. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY & EXPERIENCED. And he really has the BEST STAFF!! If you need a more "creative" input, talk to Matt! Do yourself and your family a favor and skip the big name companies especially if you want a more personalized and "honest" approach and service. Ed and his team have the skills and they have heart!:)

My experience working with Preservation Properties to find my new apartment was excellent. Before contacting them, I had contacted many others off the innumerable real estate websites out there and I was lucky if I heard back from anyone. The people that did get back to me sounded completely uninterested in what I was looking for and at times it seemed like I was bothering them. You would think that if someone posts a property for rent that they would be happy to hear that someone is interested in renting it! I have 2 cats and I understand that not all landlords take pets, but some agents I contacted treated me like having cats was the same as having the plague.

I finally contacted Preservation Properties off of an apartment I saw on their website and Stephen got back to me right away and he set up a showing for me. I met him at his office and when I got there it was inviting and everyone was friendly (this was a pleasant surprise to me because the last place I showed up at to see a property left me standing in the entry way and didn't even greet me when I walked in). I ended up working with Stephen for about a month trying to find the right place and what I appreciated about him the most was that he kept in touch with me throughout the process. There was a few times that the time I could meet or a showing conflicted with another showing he had, so he arranged for another one of the agents to meet with me (that agent was great too!). He ultimately found me the right place and did not give me the hard sell to get me in the door. I can't be happier with the outcome and I would recommend Preservation Properties and Stephen to anyone. Thank you!
