Gary Janko

As a principal investor and owner himself, Gary Janko is in turn a trusted partner known for maximizing investment opportunities for institutional, private and family office financial partners. Gary provides leadership and direction for all investments and firm projects, drawing on his four decades of experience spanning all commercial, residential, and multi-family property types. Under Gary's leadership, Janko Group has been involved in nearly $1 billion of real estate investment and development; the firm's current portfolio is approximately $350 million. Additionally, Gary has personally arranged more than $2.5 billion of financing with the largest life insurance companies, pension funds, banks, and other commercial lending institutions.

Gary’s career as an entrepreneur and risk taker began in 1988, forming his own company as a real estate investment banker. He started acquiring properties in 1993. He has since continued to broaden his scope to include both development and investment, with a particular focus on hotels, office, industrial, retail and residential properties. To support these activities, Gary has an ownership interest in four operating companies: development and investment, hospitality, construction and home building.

Gary earned an undergraduate business degree with honors from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has been married for more than 40 years to his wife Sue and has an adult son. Gary enjoys golf, tennis, platform tennis, downhill skiing, and travel.
