As the Managing Partner and Principal Broker, Gerrit Peterson helped establish The Agency Maui in April 2021. With a wealth of real estate and construction experience garnered over more than two decades, he eagerly serves buyers and sellers all around Hawaii, specializing in new construction, remodels, luxury homes and investment properties. Raised in Kihei, Maui, Gerrit grew up learning the ins and outs of construction and eventually joined the family business, working his way up to become Vice President of JAS Builders while investing in properties of his own. He has partnered with several reputable development companies on projects big and small, ranging from condos to fixer-uppers, and established a valuable professional network that he regularly taps to the advantage of his clientele. With his easy-going nature, patience and keen insight into the world of real estate, Gerrit has an uncanny ability to not only put his clients at ease throughout the course of a transaction but also inspires them to enjoy the process. He loves getting to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and help them find the perfect property, strategically invest and create their dream home in a dream location. When he isn't working, Gerrit spends time with his wife of 17 years, Yvienne, and their three children, Savannah, Natashya and Sebastian. He enjoys coaching youth basketball, travel, golf and volunteering in the community.
