Gerry Kirkeby, Broker Associate, moved to Rancho Santa Fe in 1970 from Beverly Hills. She started her career in real estate by buying, selling and building homes for herself in the Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe. In 1978 she obtained her Real Estate license and by 1980 opened her own real estate brokerage, Ranch and Coast Real Estate, found in the village of Rancho Santa Fe.
Raised in Hollywood she was an actress and writer. Gerry had her own column in ‘Teen Magazine when she was an aspiring actress. Her first marriage to novelist/screenwriter Clair Huffaker, involved her with the making of many cowboy/western films with the biggest names in Hollywood including John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Anthony Quinn, Audey Murphy, to name a few. Gerry’s second marriage took place in the original Beverly Hillbilly’s Mansion, owned by the Kirkeby’s in Bel Air. Her twenty fifth birthday party was thrown by Conrad Hilton at his personal home, Casa Encantata, in Bel Air.
Her love of beautiful homes and places brought her to Rancho Santa Fe where she raised her daughter Samantha, who now enjoys a successful career in film making and helps Gerry sell equestrian properties when not on film location.
Gerry as a founding member of the Santa Fe Hunt Club, rode and enjoyed the equestrian lifestyle of RSF. Still a horse lover, she is a 40-year member of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Now, her horse activities include the enjoyment of Andalusian (Pure Spanish) horses and events. Her love of land and homes have helped make her a Top Producer in Rancho Santa Fe specializing in Ranch estates and Equestrian property. She is also a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club and Historic Society. Knowledge of the Ranch and its history is her forte.
