Greg spent 10 years as an active-duty Army Officer from 1984 – 1994. He resigned from his commission after the first Gulf War to run a successful Scuba Diving center on the Island of Montserrat with his wife, Shelia until 1997. In the spring of 1997, they evacuated Montserrat because the Island had erupted into an active volcano. In the summer of 1997, they moved to Beaufort after exploring twenty-one coastal towns from Virginia to the northern tip of Florida. It took them 20 minutes in Beaufort to select this quaint coastal town as their home.
