I was a single parent of two, working two full-time jobs, and had terrible credit. I didnt want to try and buy a home because I was afraid of being let down because of my bad credit. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated agent... you have just found him. My first contact with Greg Bird was his response to a blind email inquiry on 5/10/2012. I spoke with Greg on 5/11/12, explained we (my daughter, son-in-law, 4-yr old granddaughter and I) were searching for a home to accommodate our melded family and added that I had recently retired, was on a limited fixed income, and my income would be the only qualifying income for the mortgage. I also let him know I had briefly spoken with another agent about ten days before, her mortgage person stated he could pre-qualify me for an $80,000 mortgage provided I paid off my car loan ($12,000) and had approximately $15,000 for the down payment . (That agent stated she would research the available homes and get back with me the next day... but I never heard from her again.) Not only did Greg find the perfect home for us, he also had the perfect mortgage man; after looking at a number of homes, we made an offer on 5/16/12... and closed in record time on our new home on 6/8/12... with a 3.5% down payment, no car loan payoff, and minimum closing costs. We meet Greg about 3 months ago. We were only moving about 2 ½ hours up to the Ft Worth area. We found out that he has plenty of patients and knowledge. He can tell you many things about the house as you walk through the property that you as a buyer do not see. The patients he showed for us was we put bids on 3 or 4 home before getting the one we bought and he never gave up on us. It was a trying time for a while but he made it much easier. He found us a great mortgage person to work with. That really helped a lot. Once we found a home it was nice to go back to work and we were able to do everything by e-mail. Made things nice as the only time we needed to travel was to look at the homes as we were house hunting. We were pretty much restricted to the weekend while looking and all we had to do is let Greg know when and he was there. Greg is, without a doubt, the best real estate agent I have ever dealt with. A consummate professional in both transactions I have had with him. I work overseas much of the time which could make the whole experience of selling my home that much more stressful because of the inability to handle issues as they came up. It was totally painless with Greg. He handled everything. He stayed in constant contact via email or Skype. When issues arose with the house he made sure there was someone there to solve it (usually himself). When the problems were solved he would send an email or photo to ease my mind. He made the negotiations easy with online forms completions and constant contact. And when the closing came he insured I received wire instructions with all closing documents online so I could wire the closing funds with a prepaid Fedex folder to send the notarized documents. All the while backing up everything both I and he had sent out. Greg is not only a professional but is also a true gentleman. A calm and very pleasant young man. He was always honest with his opinions so as to represent me knowing full well his suggestions could diminish his commission. I honestly don't think he ever gave it a second thought.
