She and her husband, Doug, have two children – a daughter who graduated from Texas A&M University in Galveston and a son currently attending the University of Houston. Gilbreth Falls-Absolom Hooper Chapter, she takes pride in her lineage. While researching her husband's family, she discovered his connection to two of the Old Three Hundred – the three hundred original families who settled in Texas with Stephen F. Austin.
